Alan defends Denny after he is charged with soliciting gay sex in a bathroom stall. Shirley defends a shock jock in a First Amendment case, and Katie begins investigating Lorraine's background.

Alan chooses to defend a man who lost his business in a flood when the National Guard failed to support him while Shirley's granddaughter asks for her assistance after being expelled from school for shredding tests. While the firm takes on legalization of prostitution and accepting female priests into the Catholic church, Denny Crane contemplates an offer to seek the Republican nomination for president.
