It's Samantha and Darrin's first wedding anniversary, and Aunt Clara stops by unexpectedly to provide her best wishes and a gift for each. Darrin's gift, a golf cap, is too small, so Aunt Clara recites an incantation to resize it to fit his head. The incantation does match the cap size to the head, but instead of making the cap larger, it makes Darrin's head smaller by turning him into a small chimpanzee. Aunt Clara has no idea what she did wrong, and can't remember the incantation to undo the spell. As Aunt Clara tries to break the spell, Darrin has to avoid Larry Tate and work, and a nosy Gladys Kravitz. In trying to achieve both, Darrin gets into a bit of trouble, and in the process goes missing, Samantha, Endora and Aunt Clara not knowing that he has been captured by the local zoo-keeper. Darrin is doting on Samantha upon news that she's pregnant. Samantha is less concerned about what she believes is Darrin's overboard behavior than about what Endora will think about becoming a grandmother. Endora isn't nearly as abhorrent to the news as Samantha thought she would be, but is surprised by what she hears is Darrin's doting. However, by the time that Darrin returns home from work, Endora doesn't see that doting as Larry has convinced him that it is healthy for Samantha to continue to do hard work. As Darrin states that he will still go through every pregnancy pain along with Samantha, Endora, without either Darrin or Samantha's knowledge, decides to teach him a lesson by making it a reality, including him feeling every hormone induced emotion associated with pregnancy. Darrin doesn't know why he is feeling as bad or emotional as he does, so when he goes to the doctor for a check-up, he is surprised by the doctor's assessment that it's almost like he's pregnant. Adam Newlarkin, an old army friend of Darrin's, is staying with Darrin and Samantha temporarily until he finds a job as he has just moved to the city. When Adam seems to be inflicted by a barrage of strange occurrences while at the Stephens house, Samantha believes that he and/or one of his ancestors has been hexed by a spell, especially as Samantha learns Adam and his family are long time residents of Salem. Aunt Clara does some checking for Samantha, and confirms Samantha's suspicion. They also learn that from the hex, Adam will be charged with a criminal offense of stealing a large sum of money unless they can remove the hex by five o'clock in the afternoon the following day. The problem becomes how Darrin, Samantha and Aunt Clara can get Adam to do the triumvirate of unusual tasks required within one day for the hex to be neutralized. Written by Huggo

Darrin and Samantha receive a frantic telephone call from Larry and Louise who are vacationing in London. The Tate's governess has taken ill, and they want the Stephenses to take care of Jonathan until they return from London. Darrin and Samantha are happy to do so. But Gladys, who knows that Samantha is only three months pregnant herself, sees Darrin and Samantha drive off hurriedly that evening and return two hours later with a baby, who Gladys truly believes is the one to which Samantha would have just given birth. Based on that belief, Gladys passes information of the Stephens' new baby to a visiting Maurice. After Maurice learns from Samantha that she doesn't plan on providing any witchcraft training to her offspring, Maurice, without telling Samantha he is going to do so, takes Jonathan away to provide that training himself, he believing Jonathan being his grandson. One practical joke after another created by witchcraft is the first introduction Darrin has to Samantha's favorite uncle and the black sheep of her family, Uncle Arthur. Seeing Darrin's antagonistic relationship with Endora, Arthur offers to help him by giving him one spell to get back at Endora whenever she needles him, that spell which will make her disappear. Darrin refuses Arthur's help until Darrin faces one antagonistic encounter too many with Endora, at which time he relents to Arthur's request. What Darrin is unaware of is that Arthur has been the cause of much of his latest grief which he attributed to Endora, and that the outrageous spell is another of Arthur's practical jokes as it has no effect beyond the amusement factor of Darrin saying the nonsense words, ringing a cowbell and blowing on a duck whistle with much fervor. Once they find all this out, Samantha, Endora and Darrin believe Uncle Arthur is the one who needs to be taught a lesson. Written by Huggo

Darrin's latest client, Mr. Norton, is an expert horticulturist, whose prized possession is an extremely rare Peruvian black rose. While touring his greenhouse, Samantha all of a sudden becomes faint and dizzy, which she as a witch has never experienced. She learns that she does not have a mortal medical affliction when her powers go on the blink, and later her face suddenly gets covered with green square spots. Aunt Clara diagnoses it as being caused by exposure to the Peruvian black rose, which was used to drive witches out of Peru. Once they are all calmed by the assumption that her affliction will not harm the baby, Aunt Clara sends Darrin off to gather items for the antidote that she will brew. More problems arise when Darrin tries to get those items, which include such standard western medicinal ingredients such as bat wings, porpoise milk, eye of newt and an ostrich feather. Despite it being Halloween, a day when witches are demonized, Samantha refuses to go into hiding with Endora. Samantha understands that Halloween is the worse in the better of worse of her wedding vows, but she also knows that Darrin respects her and doesn't want to perpetuate the negative stereotype. But all the trust the Darrin has built with Samantha on the issue may go out the window when Larry sends Samantha some typical Halloween decorations for their small dinner party that evening with clients, Jack and Phyllis Rogers, those decorations part of Rogers' product line. Feeling like Darrin has corrupted Samantha, Endora, just prior to the dinner party and disguised as a young girl trick or treater, places a spell on Darrin slowly turning him into a werewolf. With razor and nail clippers in hand, Darrin has to try and keep up with the shaving and clipping as the rapid hair and nail growth continues while not letting on to their guests what's going on, as Samantha tries to ... Aunt Clara overhears a conversation between Samantha and Darrin, with Samantha stating that she has nothing to wear for a last minute invitation to a business cocktail party. To do Samantha a favor, Aunt Clara conjures up a party dress. It's beautiful. Feeling like she can do no wrong, she also conjures up a dapper new suit for Darrin for the party. Not wanting to hurt her feelings, Samantha and Darrin allow her these few acts of magic for the night and accept the gifts with thanks. To return the favor, they invite Aunt Clara along to the party, which is for Charles Barlow, a prospective client who makes the Aunt Jenny line of not very good tasting health food products. But Aunt Clara's acts of witchcraft slowly start to disintegrate as the evening progresses, which ultimately gets Darrin into a bit of trouble, both with Barlow and Barlow's account and with the police. Although slightly upset, Darrin feels that Samantha can't spring him from jail, but he thinks he has a way to beat ... Written by Huggo

Because she feels it's a worthwhile community event, Samantha agrees for Darrin to do the advertising for a Civil War pageant without telling him beforehand. The problem is is that Darrin has no time to do the work, but he feels he can't back out on Samantha's word. In a tit-for-tat move, Darrin in turn gives his word to the event organizer that Samantha will do something for the pageant, namely write it. Despite having intimate knowledge of the event itself, Samantha is having writer's block. Endora suggests that she materialize the characters in front of her so that she can get a better idea of the story once those characters are in front of her. Once she materializes her three main characters - a confederate soldier (complete with his steed), his Yankee love interest, and a native American - two problems arise. First, a nosy Mrs. Kravitz sees these characters materialize and disappear in and out of thin air. Second, the characters materialize whenever Samantha thinks about them. ... Written by Huggo

After Samantha mentions that she has never seen photographs of Darrin as a child, Endora decides to give Samantha a first hand look by changing Darrin into his ten year old self. Darrin doesn't take too kindly to Endora and Samantha once again using him as their experimental toy. Darrin makes a disparaging remark about Endora, so as retribution, Endora changes Darrin back into that boy just before a meeting with a client, Mr. Harding. But Darrin as a child may have its benefits as Harding believes the young boy is a publicity stunt orchestrated by Darrin to convince him on whatever campaign to sell his children's toys. So Harding wants Larry and Darrin to set up a meeting with the boy and Darrin together. Beyond the impossibility of having Darrin and his younger self in the room at the same time, Darrin still has to come up with an idea for the campaign. Realizing that her witchcraft isn't what it used to be, Aunt Clara doesn't want to face Hedley fearing she'll come across as being old. She would rather he remember her as the adept witch she once was. But Endora decides to play matchmaker by inviting Hedley over for dinner. Upon his arrival, Hedley seems as virile and adept in his powers as he was when he was younger. To help Aunt Clara out, Samantha decides the only way Aunt Clara can come across as Hedley remembered her is to perform whatever witchcraft Hedley asks of Aunt Clara for her. But if Samantha is able to provide a façade for Aunt Clara, perhaps two are playing at the same game. Written by Huggo

Samantha receives an unexpected visit from her old friends, the Brockens, who would like Samantha to sit with their ten year old son, Merle, overnight. Samantha is a little wary to do so if only because Merle is a warlock who is just honing his powers, and she doesn't want to disrupt Darrin's mortal life by any further witchcraft. But Samantha agrees on the condition that Merle not use his powers while at the house, despite Merle needing to do his homework, namely practicing his spells and incantations. Merle ends up being a very polite boy around Darrin, although in a slightly odd way. Half way through Merle's visit, Darrin does learn of Merle being a warlock after he catches Merle in the act. With that information out in the open, Samantha and Darrin can guide Merle in a more straightforward manner, including Darrin issuing the directive of no witchcraft whatsoever. Samantha would love to go, but believes that Larry won't give Darrin the necessary two days off, especially as Darrin is having problems coming up with a campaign for a new client. Endora counters that by turning Larry into an inanimate object, such as a teddy bear, for those two days, Larry won't even have known that Darrin was gone. Endora does decide to take matters into her own hands by asking Larry directly, he who gladly will give Darrin the time off. As a thank you, Endora, through witchcraft, produces a gift for Larry of something he is having problems finding: a replacement teddy bear for his son. When the teddy bear arrives at the office and when he learns that it is from Endora, Darrin believes Endora went through with her threat to turn Larry into a teddy bear. Problems ensue for Darrin as his colleagues and clients wonder why he is so attached to the teddy bear and why he is treating it like a ... Written by Huggo

Samantha is pleased at Darrin's comment that she looks more beautiful every day, even if he says it when she's bleary eyed and disheveled from having just awoken. Endora, on the other hand, believes it was a just a trite mortal platitude, with which Samantha should not be so enamored. So without telling him the truth from where the gift came, Endora decides to give Darrin a truth god statue that causes any mortal standing within three feet of it to tell the truth. The statue ends up causing some problems for Darrin with his work colleagues, clients and total strangers. But it might cause the most havoc when Darrin and Samantha host a small dinner party for the Tates, and the Hotchkisses, lucrative new clients. The local orphanage has a program where families in the neighborhood take home one of residents for the Christmas holidays. Samantha and Darrin are assigned Michael, who is seen as a problem child because of his cynicism about life, which is not helped by Christmas, a holiday in which he doesn't believe. He tries to convince the other children that Santa Claus is not real. His outlook has even prevented him from being adopted, which he would have been otherwise. Purely because Michael is considered a problem, Samantha is even more convinced that they should take Michael home and try and make his Christmas a merry one. Because the conditions are so miserable and the roads back into town are washed out because of a storm, Darrin relents and allows Samantha to use her magic to transform the interior into a solid but quaint and cozy cabin. The next day while Darrin and Samantha are out, a young newlywed couple, Charles and Alice MacBain, come by to take a look at the cabin as Larry has long had it listed for sale. The MacBains love the cabin and immediately telephone Larry to tell him they want to buy it at his asking price. Naomi admits that she is not the best housekeeper in the world - in fact, she admits that she is quite inept at it - but she's nice, honest, and she needs the money to put her son through medical school. Naomi ends up being a great housekeeper, but it's all with Samantha being her secret shadow, she who uses her witchcraft to right all Naomi's many wrongs. Not knowing what's going on, Darrin agrees to Louise's request to lend Naomi out for an evening to prepare a fancy meal for a business dinner party which will not include Darrin and Samantha. Unfortunately, Darrin thinks Endorra cast a spell on his daughter to cause her to age overnight and he tries to catch Serena, who he thinks is a now adult Tabatha. Although Samantha admits to the act of witchcraft in feeding infant Tabatha, the act itself makes Darrin ponder if Tabatha is indeed a witch. His belief that she is is strengthened when the Kravitzes give to Tabatha a gift of one share in a stock that has not moved in twenty years, and by the next day the stock increases by 6 points, almost doubling its worth. Samantha believes it is just coincidence, but as she convinces Darrin that she or Endora had nothing to do with the stock's rise, Darrin believes Tabatha manipulated the market for her own benefit. As an experiment, Darrin buys Tabatha a share in another stock of her pointing, which also nearly doubles its worth overnight. Beyond the Kravitzes wanting to get in on whatever is causing the Stephenses seemingly to get rich - even if it is by voodoo as Gladys suspects - only one thing may convince Darrin that none of the unusual stock activity was of Tabatha's doing. The story... Aunt Clara takes Samantha up on her offer to come by anytime for an extended visit and plans to stay for the weekend. Darrin's parents are also coming by to stay for the weekend, they who Samantha has not yet met. As Samantha is nervous about that first meeting if only because she doesn't consider herself a seasoned housewife probably up to the standards of Mrs. Stephens Sr., Samantha is glad for Aunt Clara's arrival if only to have some moral support from one of her relatives. Aunt Clara can't help but provide more than moral support, that help in the form of witchcraft to make Samantha the perfect housewife. And Aunt Clara sees nothing wrong in being up front with the Stephenses that she and Samantha are witches ... Written by Huggo

While Samantha waits for Darrin alone in a fancy restaurant, she is hit upon by an obnoxious drunk who refuses to leave her alone despite her constantly telling him to do so. Darrin, upon his arrival and seeing the situation, wants to protect his wife's honor which leads to a physical altercation with the drunk. As it looks as if Darrin is going to get beat up by his much larger adversary, Samantha decides to use witchcraft to knock out the drunk, which on-lookers believe was all Darrin's fists doing. Later in private, Darrin is humiliated that his wife fought his battle for him. However, Darrin and Samantha just want to put the incident behind them and move on. That may not be easy as the rest of the world won't leave the story alone as unknown to Samantha and Darrin at the time, the drunk is heavyweight contender Jolting Joe Kovacks. Darrin's parents are coming by for their first ever visit to see Tabatha. Their visit coincides with another by Endora. While Darrin's father's primary focus is coming up with business ideas to get him out of retirement, the grandmothers are in quiet competition with each other, especially as the favored grandmother to Tabatha. But that competition ratchets up a notch when Darrin and Samantha learn that both grandmothers have purchased the identical stuffed bear for Tabatha. Endora gets the upper hand when she places a spell on her bear, which dances every time anyone says the name Tabatha, who ends up being fascinated by the dancing bear. While Darrin's mother sulks, Darrin's father, on the other hand, sees the dancing bear as a business opportunity that could reap him and Darrin millions. Samantha and Darrin have to figure out a way to convince Endora to take the spell off the bear, or come up with a way to nix the inevitable deal Darrin's father will make with the toy manufacturer ... Samantha has noticed that Endora seems to be softening to the idea of Darrin, even to the point of giving him gifts. For Darrin's upcoming birthday, Endora decides to give him a gift without telling him: three wishes. Darrin throws off the first two wishes quickly, but it may be that last wish which may cause the most problems. Larry is stuck at a fogged-in Chicago airport, which is not good timing as one of his most temperamental clients, Mr. Turgeon, is sitting in his office to renew his contract. After Larry telephones Darrin to keep Turgeon preoccupied until he can get back to New York, Darrin makes his third wish: to be Larry Tate for a day. After Darrin overcomes the shock of being Larry, Darrin has to deal with Turgeon without knowing anything about the client, and deal with Louise who believed her husband was in Chicago. Samantha is trying to design and sew an evening gown for a business dinner she and Darrin are going to with an important client, the Glendons. Samantha's dressmaking the mortal way isn't going very well, so Endora convinces Samantha to get some inspiration from French couturier, Aubert, which she does so clandestinely. When Darrin unwittingly criticizes Samantha's mortal creation, Samantha feels what is best for all concerned is to create a gown through witchcraft, using one of Aubert's new designs. The gown is a hit at the dinner, so much so that Darrin, wanting to please the client, offers Samantha's services as gown designer and seamstress to Mrs. Glendon, Mrs. Glendon's sister-in-law and Mrs. Kravitz. Having no aptitude as a designer or seamstress the mortal way, Samantha feels she has no other choice but to create those three gowns also using witchcraft, and also using three of Aubert's not yet released designs. Samantha finds a horse in her back yard. Wanting to find from where the horse came, Samantha turns the horse into a human. In her human form, the horse tells Samantha that her name is Dally Ran, is a race horse, but ran away when the opportunity arose as she feels she is the neglected horse among her trainer Jack Spindler's stable. Dally Ran's purpose in races is to set a blistering pace for all the other horses to follow. As all the horses fade in the stretch including Dally Ran, Dally Ran's sister, Adorable Diane, comes from behind to win and gain all the glory. Dally Ran is certain she could win if just given the chance. Later that evening, Darrin brings home his old friend Gus Walters for dinner. From out of town, Gus is having trouble trying to raise money for his new business venture. As she likes the Stephens and Gus, Dally Ran, or Dolly Rand as she is now being called, suggests Gus raise the money through betting on the horses, about which she obviously knows. Because she can't get a babysitter and she can't cancel her important appointment, Samantha reluctantly allows Endora to babysit Tabatha for the first time. Samantha's only worry about allowing Endora to sit is Darrin's feelings about Endora's use of witchcraft in the house. Despite Endora's vow not to use witchcraft while sitting with Tabatha, Endora can't help herself when Gladys Kravitz comes over the show off her nephew Edgar, who is the same age as Tabatha but who Mrs. Kravitz states is far more advanced than Tabatha. So what Endora decides to do is allow Tabatha to speak, answering Mrs. Kravitz's question directly. Mrs. Kravitz calls in the press to cover the story, which shouldn't be an issue since Tabatha can't really speak, but Endora, who is angry at Darrin for berating her, makes Tabatha speak in front of the reporters. Beyond Samantha needing to convince Endora that what she did was wrong, they have to come up with a way to stop the story cold as their life has become a ... Written by Huggo

Darrin is dismayed to see yet another one of Samantha's relatives stop by for a visit, this time an Irish leprechaun named Brian O'Brian. What Darrin quickly learns is that Brian is not a relative of Samantha's, but one of his, or at least a figment of one of his Irish ancestor's imaginations. Brian has come to the US to retrieve his last pot of gold, which was snatched from beneath him when the fireplace in which he was hiding it was transported into a new house in the US by the house's wealthy new owner, James Dennis Robinson, his US house nearby where Darrin and Samantha live. With no pot of gold, Brian is without his leprechaun magic. Samantha can't use her witchcraft to get the pot of gold for him since it has leprechaun magic on it, meaning that Brian has to retrieve it himself. Breaking into the fortified Robinson mansion may be difficult enough, but Brian hadn't even considered that the pot of gold may have been discovered in its move, which may reduce him to a mere mortal for... At a business cocktail party at the Tate's home, Samantha meets the snobbish daughter of a client, who provokes her into using her witchcraft to hit her in the eye with an hors d'oeuvre. Later at home, Darrin berates Samantha for what he considers her childish and potentially business costing behavior, but when Larry takes that same tone about Samantha, Darrin stands up for his wife, and begins to rail on Louise. This argument leads to Larry and Darrin parting as friends and co-workers as Darrin quits. Samantha, with Louise's help, concocts a plan to prevent Darrin from getting another job. Against Darrin's wishes, Samantha accompanies him to the lecture of his latest client, Osgood Rightmire, who is renowned as the greatest authority of witches. Simply, he doesn't believe they exist. Samantha, on the other hand, believes he is the biggest peddler of anti-witch lies. During the lecture, Samantha can't further help but use a little witchcraft against him after one too many slur against witches. In turn, he recites an incantation which he states will make any witch within his vicinity disappear. It works as he makes Samantha disappear. Luckily, her disappearance is only temporary, but unluckily her disappearance happens again and again against her will. Not paying attention, neither Darrin or Samantha can remember the incantation, so Endora doesn't know how to solve the problem. They have to get Rightmire to say the incantation again for the problem to be solved, which he refuses to do, but they also have to figure out how he can perform witchcraft if he isn't a warlock. ... Darrin pitches a campaign to a baby food company. The company's president, Mr. Robbins, likes the campaign, and wants to sign with Darrin. However, the company's advertising manager, George Barkley, wants ten days to mull over the concept before making a decision. What Darrin is unaware of is that what Barkley wants more than a good advertising campaign is an advertising man with a squeaky clean background that will no way negatively affect the company's wholesome image. As such, he hires a private investigator, Charlie Leach, to do some digging into Darrin's background. After finding no dirt on Darrin, Leach moves on to the family, namely Samantha. Beyond Leach possibly spying Samantha performing some witchcraft, Samantha may unwittingly feed the fire that Leach is starting on her. Beyond this specific job, Leach has ulterior motives on finding out as much dirt as he can on Samantha as possible. Written by Huggo

Private investigator Charlie Leach tells Samantha that he has proof that she's a witch, and threatens to tell Darrin's client, Robbins Baby Food, of that fact unless she acts as his and his wife Charmaine's meal ticket without telling Charmaine how they all of a sudden got rich. Not wanting to threaten Darrin's career, Samantha agrees, but she doesn't want to make it easy for Leach, who she considers contemptible. However, when Darrin finds out about the fact that Leach was hired by Robbins Baby Food, Samantha and Darrin believe they not only have to give Robbins and Barkley a piece of their mind, but get back at Leach in a way that he will leave them alone for good. Samantha is expecting the arrival of Darrin's Uncle Albert, who is coming for an extended visit and who she has never met. The person who Samantha welcomes into their house as Uncle Albert is really Horace Dilliway, ex of the vaudeville team of Dillaway and Dunn. Both Horace and his still partner William Dunn are now hobos that had been casing the neighborhood, waiting for husbands to leave for work so that they could sponge free meals off of the wives. Horace is appreciative of the hospitality shown by Samantha, even if it is only because she believes him to be Uncle Albert. The date Samantha chooses is an evening that she cooked Darrin dinner at his apartment when she almost told him the first time around. She does tell him this second time around, and although his reaction isn't exactly what she would have wanted, he does go into the process of asking her to marry him, but it's the entire story behind the question that doesn't sit well with Samantha. When Darrin finds out what has happened, he asks Endora to send Samantha back one final time to let the scene play out to its completion, which may have a slightly different ending than what Samantha was anticipating. The latest example is the fact that Larry has told him that he will not be working on the prestigious Waterhouse account. Samantha wants to show Darrin that she believes in him even if he doesn't.
